We are a long established family business producing stretcher frames
and furniture in
Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Surrounded by much of Manchester’s
thriving artistic community,
we aim to provide a high quality product at a value price, backed
by a reliable and prompt service.
why us
We supply stretcher bars in roughly equal numbers to Artists and
Digital Printers.
All our frames are made to your exact specifications so there is
no need to work within the
constraints of set sizes. We make the frame to fit the size of your
image, not the other way around.
We can provide individual frames or large batches
as required.
Batches can comprise of any number of different sized frames.
As a small business we know how important it is
to have suppliers we can rely on.
We aim to be a supplier that you can rely on.
the product
Our standard frame is made from a high grade, kiln dried redwood.

It is a finished size of 44mm x 44mm. fig2
The profile is carefully cut at an angle of 75 degrees ensuring
that the canvas stretches easily over the frame. fig3
A 3mm radius is routed on the front edge to ensure easy stretching.

Corners are accurately mitred. They are glued and double screwed
to provide an exceptionally strong joint.
On larger frames a metal corner brace is also fitted. fig5
Frames larger that 1000mm (40 inches) will be fitted with a cross
bar. fig5
Because we manufacture the timber ourselves, we
can vary any of these dimensions to suit
your own requirements. Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss

*Please note that our frames do not have wedges.
They are a fixed frame that is ready assembled
and ready to stretch when we dispatch it to you.
timing
Our usual turn-around for frames is 3 days. We do however make ever
effort to provide a next day
service for ‘emergency frames’ when they are needed.
The more notice you can give us the better,
but we pride ourselves on delivering your frames on time and on
budget.

Our workshop has produced quality furniture for over 80 years. We
are often called upon to make
one off pieces or batch produced items to order. We have experience
in working with artists and galleries
to produce installations and display items. We also make plinths
to your exact specifications.

We are happy to put you in touch with existing clients
who use our frames.
If you require, they will also be happy to give you advice about
the practicalities of stretching frames.
delivery
Our frames are delivered nationwide by Interlink Express. Their
‘next-day’ service is very reliable.
We charge £12 for delivery of a standard batch of frames.
This will usually cover a consignment of up to 12 frames.

We will contact you on receipt of the order to confirm a delivery
